The Antibiotic Guardian Shared Learning & Awards event 2024/2025 was held on Monday, 09 June 2025 at The Eastside Rooms in Birmingham. First launched in 2016, the awards ceremony aims to share learning and celebrate the work of healthcare professionals across the UK and worldwide in tackling antimicrobial resistance (AMR).
This year’s event opened with an AMR lecture and panel discussion, featuring leading voices in the field of AMR and AMS. This was followed by a keynote address from Prof. Isabel Oliver, and a moving speech from a patient representative sharing their lived experience with recurrent antibiotic resistant urinary tract infections.
The evening culminated in the awards ceremony where 13 winners and 13 highly commended and commended entries were recognised for their impactful work to tackle AMR. The event concluded with closing remarks from Dr Colin brown and Prof. Diane Ashiru-Oredope.
