Wednesday, 22nd September 2021
13:30 – 15:00hrs
Based on the success of the 2020 ‘Planning your own WAAW/EAAD during a COVID-19 pandemic’ workshop, a ‘Knowledge Café’ was run in 2021 to support local WAAW planning.
The Knowledge Café format seeks to help surface the group’s collective knowledge; learn from each other; share ideas and insights. This national knowledge café style workshop aims to build on the success of the ‘Antibiotic Café’ event, which was hosted by Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust in 2020.
The WAAW/EAAD Knowledge Café was hosted on 22nd September 2021, 13:30-15:00, and began with introductions and a panel discussion from National WAAW/EAAD Planning Subgroup members. This panel discussion highlighted the 2020 activity and how various resources were utilised across different settings to overcome the barriers introduced by COVID-19 in 2020. Attendees were then invited to join breakout rooms to engage with the ‘knowledge café’ portion of the workshop, where they discussed in groups their thoughts around WAAW 2021 planning, perceived barriers, plans, and inspiration from the first session. The workshop concluded with a consolidating session in which the breakout rooms re-joined to discuss their group thoughts and share.
Recording of the online Knowledge Café:
Please note that between 40:10 to 59:12 there were breakout sessions that were not recorded. We then meet back together as a group to share learning from the breakout sessions.
